The first company at the time to offer a range of premium quality sunglasses for the next generation, Zoobug gained a reputation within the eyewear and childrenswear industry, for its innovative approach to designing a collection just for kids. Dr Diem stated, ‘Children’s eyes are delicate, their sight is still developing and so need greater care and protection from UV light than adults. Sadly, this message is not well known and so children are still walking around with inadequate eye protection even though their parents are fully covered up. We are great at protecting their skin and now just need to remember their eyes.’
Not long after Zoobug's launch of their debut collection, 'My First Zoobug Sunglasses' the young brand were nominated and awarded with the prestigious optical industry award; The Silm D'or'. The range was designed with 3-5 year old children in mind, taking into consideration their love for rough and tumble, without compromising on high quality lenses with UV protection. And just a year later a second nomination was awarded to Zoobug. This time the brand was recognised for their attention to detail and skill in designing children's optical frames. This most coveted international accolade positioned Zoobug as the leading name in children’s eyewear. Following suit, the travel retail industry also started to sit up and take note of the important health message behind Zoobug sunglasses and awarded the brand Best New Product of 2009 in the Duty Free News International ‘Product of the Year’ awards, as well as Winner of The Frontier Magazine Buy’s Forum Awards 2010.
In such a short space of time, Zoobug have created quite a stir within the eyewear industry, highlighting the importance of protecting children's eyes whilst they grow and develop. Available in 21 countries this city of London based company is available at Sunglasses Shop where a plethora of cool and funky frames are available: Baby pink butterfly frames, classically cool wayfarers, sporty wraparounds and rock star inspired aviators.
