Bulgari Decorate Fifth Avenue Store For Chinese New Year with Huge Serpenti
2013 is the Year of the Snake in the Chinese tradition of the zodiac. Italian high jewellers Bulgari are taking the occasion to celebrate its own famous relationship with the serpent.
Between February 9th and 28th Bulgari's Fifth Avenue store will show an exhibition of its iconic serpent inspired jewellery including archive pieces. Bulgari: the Serpenti collection showcases one of its most famous creations and its incarnations over the decades since the first of the bracelet watches in the forties. The New York flagship building is decorated with its own huge stylised Serpenti lit up in bright white mimicking sparkling pave diamonds.
Coinciding with event is the release of Marion Fassel’s new book filled with imagery of Bulgari Serpenti including pieces owned by some of its most famous wearers such as Elizabeth Taylor, Diana Vreeland and Marisa Berensen. Two limited edition watches have also been created by Bulgari exclusively for China.
The Serpenti legend entered a new chapter with Bulgari’s latest sunglasses collection. The hand finished Bulgari 8104 sunglass captures the essence of the Serpenti theme with a stunning temple display of scales delicately touched with enamel in Bulgari 8104 or punctuated with Austrian crystals in Bulgari 8108B. Bulgari blend jewellery with sunglass seamlessly yet again in these unprecedented frames. The sunglasses are modelled by Rachel Weisz in the Annie Leibovitz shot Eternal Beauty campaign along with the latest Serpenti jewellery and timepieces.
