London Fashion Week Begins

New York has had its say and now the designer sunglasses are in lock down in London as autumn/winter 2013-14 ready-to-wear collections are revealed in the second leg of the fashion month. Fashion's elite have decended on the capital as huge names such as Paul Smith, Burberry and Tom Ford will be shaping the season with their latest womenswear looks over the five day event.

No longer content with wearing top designer pieces from the likes of Stella McCartney and appearing on the hallowed front row, Rihanna will be showing fashion at her first London Fashion Week with her collaboration with River Island.

On Monday Sir Paul Smith reveals his future fashion along with Jonathan Saunders, Mary Katranzou, Mulberry and Temperley also billed for the fourth day.

Despite taking up residence in the capital Victoria Beckham has not indicated that she will be showing her collections at London Fashion Week. Fresh from New York Fashion Week where she showed two fine collections one for her mainline and another for VIctoria, Victoria Beckham her services are being called upon on the panel of judges for the Woolmark Prize. Donatella Versace, Franca Sozzani and Diane Von Furstenberg will also host the event on Saturday in which six up and coming designer collections compete for the prize.

The mighty Burberry Prorsum shows its hand on the final day along with Tom Ford’s first full blown ready-to-wear catwalk under his own label breaking a history of private presentations. Christopher Kane, Erdem and Peter Pilotto also put forward their vision for autumn/winter 2013-14 dressing on the final day on Tuesday.

Then it's on to Milan where Gucci kick off proceedings. Prada, Versace, Dolce and Gabbana, Marni, , Salvatore Ferragamo and Emporio Armani will be calling the shots.
