A cross country skier and cyclist by the age of 18 Katerina Nash had competed in three Olympic Games. She skied for her native Czech Republic in two Winter Olympics, and mountain biking in the summers. When she ran out of college eligibility in 2002, she switched to mountain biking and again earned the chance to represent her native country. This time it was in the 2004 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, where she came 19th in the cross-country mountain bike event.
