Christian Olsson, Bio.

Born: 25th January 1980
Home: Gothenburg, Sweden

Making comebacks worthy of a defiant champion is something Christian Olsson is used to. The tall Swede has suffered from repeated injury, yet he kept bouncing back to win title after title.

The athletics world won't have any trouble remembering Olsson's triumphs. One of his most memorable performances came at the 2004 Olympics in Athens. Olsson cleared a huge 17.79 metres to take the triple jump gold medal in the final. This glory was followed by anguish, as Olsson was plagued by consistent injury for the next two years.

After coming back from injury in 2006, Olsson stormed to victory in the European Cup First League in Prague. This meant that he'd qualified for the 2006 European Championships. But the comeback wasn't complete yet. He returned to his home town of Gothenburg. This is where he confirmed his abilities once and for all in taking the European Championship gold. After suffering a foot injury whilst training, Olsson retired in May 2012.
