Ben Ainslie, Bio.

Born: 5th February 1977
Home: Restronguet, UK

Sailing comes easy to Ben Ainslie. Having started out in the boat at eight years old, few could've predicted such a meteoric rise. His performances in some of the world's most unforgiving waters have seen him hone his skills, becoming the most successful British sailor of all time.

Everyone starts somewhere. For Ben Ainslie, his burst into the public eye began back in the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta. Ainslie battled hard in the US to take the silver medal. And he never looked back. More success followed at the 2000 Olympics down under in Sydney. Ainslie went one better this time though, walking away with the gold. It got better still for Ainslie after this, as he marched to Olympic success again in 2004 and 2008.

In recognition of his success and talent, Ainslie was awarded a CBE in 2009. As a supporting partner, Prada currently supply Ainslie's eyewear. Ainslie is the most successful Olympic sailor in history, with four gold medals and a silver to his name.
