Alex Schlopy is expected to emerge as a superstar of the skiing world and has the added pressure of living up to his mother's legacy. He is the son of Olympic ski legend Holly Flanders, however Schlopy has taken the freestyle route to skiing super-stardom.
The sponsored youngster is developing fast and has a free-spirited approach to skiing, and this has seen him perform like a seasoned pro under pressure in competitions. He won gold at the Winter X-Games Big Air competition in 2011, forcing the skiing world to notice his obvious ability. Schlopy also sealed a first-placed finish in the 2011 FIS World Championships slopestyle event.
