Graduating from Central Saint Martins in 1995, Stella McCartney’s individual style was immediate and after just two season’s of graduating, McCartney was appointed the Creative Director of Chloe. This period at the helm of one of the most famous design houses shaped Stella McCartney’s style and in 2001 the British designer launched her own fashion house, Stella McCartney in a joint venture with Gucci Group, debuting her collection at Paris Fashion Week in the same year,
A lifelong vegetarian, Stella McCartney does not use any leather or fur in her designs. Under the Stella McCartney label, her collections include women’s ready-to-wear, accessories, lingerie, eyewear, fragrance and organic skincare.
The brand’s style consists of strong yet natural lines making up her effortlessly cool tailored pieces that are timeless, future classics with a directional twist. Natural but sensual femininity is a key feature of McCartney’s design method and this is apparent in her collections, year on year. The award winning designer recently shared her views on sunglasses to Vegetarian Star, ‘Every woman should have two pairs of sunglasses, a classic pair they’ll have forever and a more playful pair. We’ve added that fun element to the line’. This season see’s oversized frames being collaborated with angular silhouettes such as aviators and square acetate variations. Sports luxe at its finest.
